King Jehoshaphat

KING JEHOSHAPHAT

Tonight (Wednesday, 12/21, 7:00 pm), gather with your Calvary Chapel family in the main sanctuary or on our website (www.calvaryinv.com), Facebook, and Youtube (Calvary Inverness) as we continue with our three-year journey through the Bible (2 Chronicles 17-20).

King Jehoshaphat was one of the greatest kings to rule over Judah and Benjamin. Everything he set out to do, he accomplished. He recruited and maintained an army of more than a million men trained to protect the citizens of Judah. He amassed wealth for his nation, which was rivaled only by King Solomon. Nations flowed to Jerusalem to pay tribute because they saw the Lord’s hand was upon his life and reign. And, when an army that seemed to be without number was set to invade, he cried out to God, who heard his prayer and fought the battle for him and all of Judah. A reminder that if God is on your side, you are never outnumbered, surrounded, or in danger of defeat.

What was the secret to his success? How was he able to have God on his side? The reason is simple. From the moment he became King, he loved God with his entire being. He didn’t swerve to the right or the left. He made it his ambition to follow all of God's commands, like his ancestor King David, whom the Bible declared was a man after God’s heart (Acts 13:22). And by doing so, he was an example to his people and to all those who read the account of his life.

Please pray that this three-year journey through the Word of God will be received by open hearts that long to grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus. And He would do deep and abiding work in and through us for a world in desperate need of a Savior.
In His Strong Love,
Pastor
