The God of Peace
THE GOD OF PEACE
Sunday (9/29), gather with your church family as we, in light of recent events, turn our attention to Paul’s letter to the Philippians (4:4-9).
Our community, county, state, and region have faced unprecedented challenges this past week. Even though many prepared for Hurricane Helene's rain, wind, and storm surge, the damage it inflicted will take weeks, if not months, to restore normalcy to people’s lives.
During these tribulations, the Church of Jesus Christ can and does reach out to those devastated, offering them hope and expressing our love by assisting in everything from cleaning up debris to hanging drywall to providing prayer for those broken and in shock.
Our fellowship has the opportunity and privilege of hosting Calvary Disaster Relief. We will serve as the hub for the various disaster relief teams of volunteers from different Calvarys throughout the United States who will meet at our church to prepare to serve at different disaster sites.
We will need people willing to cook and serve. Initially, the teams will sleep at our church and travel to Crystal River. Based on their brief observation, Calvary Relief will be in our county for several months.
Please read the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians to prepare us for ministry with Calvary Relief, our church fellowship, family, and friends.
In the four chapters, Paul, from a Roman prison, writes of the peace and joy a Christian is promised through their faith in Jesus Christ. It will lift your spirit and equip you with the truths of God’s love for people that many who are in despair will need to hear.
I look forward to our time together. Please pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the entire Calvary Chapel family.
There are several opportunities for worship: on-campus (10:00 a.m.), drive-in church (92.1fm), and online (Facebook and YouTube: Calvary Inverness).
IN HIS STRONG LOVE,
Pastor
