Jesus, Marriage And Divorce
JESUS, MARRIAGE & DIVORCE
Sunday (05/12) is a day of celebration! Together, we will thank God for our Mothers and show honor and appreciation to all the women in our lives.
Since the beginning of time, women have always made a vital contribution to the health and well-being of the family. After the birth of the church, in the Book of Acts, women played a vital role in advancing the Gospel throughout the Roman Empire.
Therefore, we will turn our attention to what Jesus had to say regarding the sanctity of marriage (Matt 19:1-15). God gave the institution of marriage and family at the beginning.
He created Adam and Eve and stated that as male and female, they would represent to the following generations that each would leave their Father and Mother and be joined together as one. A new family would be born, and with the children they would bear, they would witness the many blessings of marriage and family.
God created marriage so that Adam would have a companion to share his life with, a helpmate to strengthen him in the parts of his life in which he was weak, to have children, to experience the pleasure of physical intimacy, and as a witness to a feckless culture that true happiness and satisfaction is found in the monogamous relationship based upon Jesus Christ.
Today’s culture desperately needs women like Eve, who was an Old Testament example of someone who was a Jesus’ loving, sin-hating, Holy Spirit-filled woman willing to submit to and graciously accept the role that God had designed her to fill.
May the women of Calvary Chapel Inverness follow Eve’s example, hear the call of their Savior, and step up to fight the good fight of faith for their family, church, and nation.
I look forward to our time together. Please pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the entire Calvary Chapel family.
There are several opportunities for worship: on-campus (10:00 a.m.), drive-in church (92.1fm), and online (Facebook and YouTube: Calvary Inverness).
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY,
