Through My Bible: \"Processing The Land\"

POSSESSING THE LAND

Tonight (Wednesday 03/16, 7:00 pm), gather with your Calvary Chapel family in the Holy Ground Cafe’ or on our website (www.calvaryinv.com), Facebook, and Youtube (Calvary Inverness) as we continue through our three-year journey through the Bible by turning our attention to Joshua 13-24.
Moses, the servant of God, died, and Joshua was ordained to lead Israel into battle to claim possession of the land God had promised.

The first five chapters cover God's instructions to the nation to prepare them for the intense warfare they will encounter when they cross over the Jordan. Chapter six is the first of many battles, as they seek to take the city of Jericho. Chapters thirteen through twenty-four Joshua and Israel will be allowed to rest from the many struggles they had endured.  During this time, Joshua will challenge the nation to rise and begin the tedious and sometimes excruciating task of possessing the land.

The book concludes with Joshua giving his final exhortation for Israel to commit themselves to God and His commandments fully. Throughout the challenges they face, God exhorts them to “Be strong and very courageous.”

The book of Joshua represents the spiritual journey of the Christian. There are numerous lessons we can learn from the children of Israel. Through all their up and downs, faith and fears, trials and troubles, losses and victories, we can see that God was faithful and with them throughout it all.

Please pray that this three-year journey, through the Word of God, will be received by open hearts that long to grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus. And that He would do a deep and practical Work in and through us for a world in desperate need of a Savior.
In His Strong Love,
Pastor
