Do This Until He Comes
DO THIS UNTIL HE COMES
Sunday (06/19), we conclude our series in the book of 1 Corinthians (16:13-24). Paul's writing from Ephesus responded to numerous questions and controversies in the church at Corinth. Each answer given was under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. He wanted the congregation to know they belonged to something unlike anything they had ever experienced.
So Paul, after solving the many problems that had arisen, closes out his letter. He wanted the last words to resonate in the heart of each believer. He wanted the inspired church to keep their minds on the task until Jesus returned.
In the last twelve verses, Paul gives his final exhortations. He expects the church to understand that these commands come directly from the Lord. Primarily they are given to the leaders of the church, which would be the men. And that they, in turn, would teach it to their families so that the church would be a healthy, strong, growing New Testament body of believers.
Today, as we celebrate our Fathers, this is an opportunity for the men of Calvary Chapel to hear the Word of the Lord, heed its message and in one mind and spirit, lead their families in the way of righteousness and be a shining light to a dark world. And to continue in these things until Jesus comes for the church. Maranatha!
I look forward to our time together. Please pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the entire Calvary Chapel family.
There are several opportunities for worship. On-campus (10:00 am), drive-in church (92.1fm), and online (Facebook and YouTube: Calvary Inverness)
