Praise And Prayer

PRAISE & PRAYER

Tonight (Wednesday, 8/2, 7:00 pm), gather with your Calvary Chapel family in the Holy Grounds Cafe' or on our website (www.calvaryinv.com), Facebook, and Youtube (Calvary Inverness) as we continue our three-year journey through the Bible in the book of Psalms (65-72).

King David and the other authors of the eight Psalms (65-72) provide a daily pattern for God's people to follow: to begin and end each day by sitting before the Lord with praise and prayer.
This is not an attempt by the authors to diminish those times when one calls out in prayer to the Lord in desperation. Instead, their intent is based upon two solid ideas.

First, God is worthy of our praise and prayers. In light of who He is, what He has done, and what has been promised, it is a privilege to sit and pour out your gratitude and adoration upon Him.
Second, those precious times bring about the benefit of building up the inner man with faith, so when trauma comes, you can walk through it confidently, knowing God's goodness and faithfulness.

Also, as you read through the eight chapters, take note of the response to answer prayer. When crying out to the Lord, the petitioner does so in faith, knowing that God will bring him through the trial, so he promises to tell others what God has done for him.
It is a reminder to express gratitude to God and testify of His wondrous working power to others. This serves as a testimony to those who do not know Christ and an encouragement for those who do.

It also sets an example before other believers of the benefits of daily devotional life and equips them to endure trials and troubles victoriously.

Please pray that this three-year journey through the Word of God will be received by open hearts that long to grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus. Moreover, He would do deep and abiding work in and through us for a world in desperate need of a Savior.
In His Strong Love,
Pastor
