\"What\'s in a Name?\" Philippians 2:5-11

Title: What’s in a Name
MAIN TEXT: Philippians 2:5-11

Tomorrow (Sunday, 5/15) gather with your Calvary Chapel family in the main sanctuary or on Facebook and Youtube (Calvary Inverness), as we take a few moments to talk about WHAT’S IN A NAME?

“What’s in a name?” Shakespeare’s Romeo once asked Juliet. While a rose by any other name might smell as sweet, in the Bible, a name has great significance. In his very first sermon, Peter is heard proclaiming is this: Jesus is Messiah, and the religious leaders had murdered Him. But that was not the end of the story. Jesus is alive, and these people who were preaching to them had seen him with their own eyes after he had risen from the dead. What’s more, Peter told them, “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:21)

Names say something and names means something. Names are significant. Now if names  mean something on a horizontal plane, it is definitely true when we move into the spiritual realm. In our time together we will consider the greatest name in the history of the universe, the name above every other name, the name of Jesus. There are 3 main points we will examine in our study-

1. THE SUPREMEME POSITION OF THE NAME OF JESUS
2. THE SUPREME POWER OF THE NAME OF JESUS
3. THE SUPREME PROFESSION OF THE NAME OF JESUS

As we look at these three truths about the name of Jesus I believe that we will be encouraged by His word to walk in the power and authority that His precious name gives each of us, His children.
There are several opportunities for worship. On campus (10:00am), drive-in church (92.1fm), and online (Facebook and YouTube:  Calvary Inverness)

Please pray for our time together that we would experience a fresh outpouring of His Spirit upon our hearts and through His Word we will be changed to be more like Christ. Hope to see you somewhere at Calvary.
Blessings,
Pastor Paul
