The Fall Of Jerusalem

THE FALL OF JERUSALEM

Tonight (Wednesday, 8/28, 7:00 pm), gather with your Calvary Chapel family in the Holy Grounds Cafe or on our website (www.calvaryinv.com), Facebook, and YouTube (Calvary Inverness) as we continue in the book of Jeremiah (36-39).

Jeremiah's ministry lasted forty-plus years. During that time, he faithfully carried out the difficult task of proclaiming the coming judgment of God due to Israel disobeying His commands.

No matter what people thought about Jeremiah's prophecies, their fulfillment was imminent. There was nowhere to hide, and they could do nothing to change the outcome.

Therefore, the people's only opportunity to be saved was to repent of their wickedness, turn to God, no matter their feelings, and obey every command. Even though they would be taken captive to Babylon, their lives would be spared.

Because of God's mercy, Jeremiah's sermons contained warnings of judgment for the wicked and protection for those who repented. God desired that none of His chosen people perish, but through Jeremiah's preaching, they would recognize the error of their ways and call out to Him for salvation.

The ministry God has given us, the church, will also be challenging, like Jeremiah's. Due to our love and devotion to God and the people in desperate need of salvation, we will face many trials and tribulations.

Because of persecution, it is good to remember these words of encouragement God gave Timothy through the Apostle Paul. "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).

Please pray that this journey through the Word of God will be received by open hearts that long to grow in Jesus' grace and Knowledge. Moreover, He would do deep and abiding work in and through us for a world in desperate need of a Savior.

In His Strong Love,

Pastor
