David In The Wilderness

DAVID IN THE WILDERNESS
Tonight (Wednesday 06/15, 7:00 pm), gather with your Calvary Chapel family in the Holy Ground Cafe’ or on our website (www.calvaryinv.com), Facebook, and Youtube (Calvary Inverness) as we continue through our three-year journey through the Bible by concluding the book of 1 Samuel (35-31).
The giant killer who will be the next king of Israel is on the run for his life. During these turbulent times, David shows himself to be a man of great faith and, at times, a man who, like many of us, is prone to giving in to the emotions of anger, resentment, and fear.
God is with David. Both in the times when David exhibits great faith and when he bottoms out. Throughout the Scripture, this truth is consistent: God remains faithful even when His people are sometimes faithless.
As God is with David, the opposite is true with King Saul. His life is a sad example of wasted potential. He had been chosen by God, anointed to be the first king of Israel. At first, he showed himself as a humble servant to the Lord and people. But, in the end, Saul was more interested in what he wanted than what the Lord desired. Ultimately, it cost Saul the kingdom, his family, his sanity, and his life.
Please pray that this three-year journey, through the Word of God, will be received by open hearts that long to grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Jesus. And that He would do a deep and practical Work in and through us for a world in desperate need of a Savior.
In His Strong Love,
Pastor
