A WOMAN’S INFLUENCE
Sunday (05/08) is a day of celebration! Together we will give thanks to God for our Mothers and show honor and appreciation to all the women in our lives.
Since the beginning of time, women have always had a vitally important contribution to the health and well-being of the family. And, after the birth of the church, in the book of Acts, women played a vital role in the Gospel being advanced throughout the Roman Empire.
For that reason, we will turn our attention to 2 Chronicles 21-23. The author, Ezra, the priest, compares and contrasts two women who were integral to what would happen to the southern kingdom of Israel. First, Ezra writes that Athaliah was wife to the King, a Mother and Grandmother to the royal line, and the daughter of one of the most wicked women in the Bible, Jezebel. Second, he writes about Jehoshabeath, the High Priest's wife and sister to the King. The latter loved God and took extraordinary and dangerous measures to save her family from the evil threatening to destroy them.
Today’s culture desperately needs women like Jehosabeath, who was an Old Testament example of someone who was a Jesus’ loving, sin-hating, Holy Spirit-filled woman willing to plead on behalf of a lost generation.
May the women of Calvary Chapel Inverness follow Jehosabeath’s example, hear the call of their Savior and step up to fight the good fight of faith for their family, church, and nation.
I look forward to our time together. Please pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the entire Calvary Chapel family.
There are several opportunities for worship. On-campus (10:00 am), drive-in church (92.1fm), and online (Facebook and YouTube: Calvary Inverness)
Until He Comes,
